This is Hilarious

So I was talking to Lauren, my 13 year old little sister (who rocks & I just love) last night. And as she was telling me a 'scary story' about scorpion hunting the night before (this is what az kids do for fun: at night go around with a black light and shine it over walls and what not to find creepy glowing scorpions. It's super freaky because you find a ton and can't help but constantly imagine they are crawling all over you). While she was talking with me she had my blog up. In the middle of her story she interrupts herself and says "Wait, is that your baby?" I thought she was talking about the couple pics of me and the belly. So I answered, "Yes, isn't he big?" Then she proceeded to exclaim, "Oh my gosh he looks so real! He doesn't look like an alien anymore like from the ultra sound! He's so cute I can't believe that's him!" This is the part where I realize she is not talking about the real life pictures of me. Nope, she is talking about the widget in the top right corner of the blog with the cartoon of a baby twirling around. And that is the part where I burst out laughing. hahahahahhahahahahaha. That's all I could say! hahahahaha. Oh man. I could see my old extra ditzy self for a second there... but I must say I was caught back with her level of pure ditzyness. She was totally convinced and amazed and excited! That was the best part. It took me a few seconds to calm down and explain to her that what she was looking at was indeed NOT my baby. hahaha.

It looks like the close ups with the fruits and veggies are liked along with the patisserie goods storefront, so here is what I came up with. I might end up also clustering the pictures of the different spices, but for now I am going with the produce pics. I didn't originally love the aubergines picture (eggplant) but it looks good with the radishes (these kind are so good with fresh butter dipped in salt weirdly enough) and grapes. No one voted for the Chalk board pics, but I think I like them. So here is the combo. What do you think?
P.S. You all rock! That was so nice of you to give me your input! the Fromager was also a hit, but for some reason just didn't go:(

Home Improvement

Here are some things I have done to keep myself busy/beautify our home while Jacob is off learning (so overrated) and I am.... home.

1) Baseboards: Yucky totally trashed/dinged up brown ------> Pretty white
1. Clean
2.Tape
3. Caulk... NOT I totally skipped this step, oops!
4. Primer (2 coats)
5. Paint (2 coates)
6. Untape
7. Retape because the paint was ugly
8. Paint attempt #2, just one coat
9. Untape

2) What to do with all this extra white paint???

You must be thinking, 'Wow, how did Becca get this fixture off and spray paint something electrical without breaking it?' Well, I did break it. The light no longer works. Jacob is not so fond of my home improvements anymore...


4) Beautiful french antique dresser!
We despise Craigslist (craigslist = people selling junk for too much $). However, we love it for giving us our washer/dryer, kitchen table, and this sucker! $50 was more of a splurge to us... but I just couldn't say no to this.

What do you think? Should I paint it one day? I'm sort of liking it all distressed an old as it is...


5) So... here's the deal. I put up/made these 2 white floatingish shelves... but I'm not sure about the turnout. So if I decide I like them, maybe I'll post a picture.

There have been a few people asking for an update on the belly: Well these were taken YESTERDAY! So no more whining!



This (i.e. home improvement) really is an ongoing process. The main "ongoing" portion involves wall hangings. The problem is, I don't have what I want! I have great frames and all that. But I don't like them right now. I have a feeling our walls will be bare for a long time...

2 year Anniversary (8~16~08)

I woke up to these beautiful flowers the day we celebrated our anniversary. Jacob totally cheated because we didn't really set in stone when we would celebrate it. Well, the flowers were a good clue. They made me pretty happy, I'm not gonna lie:)

After hours of looking at fancy Bead & Breakfasts, seeing how much they cost as well as how overly booked they were, we decided to do this for our 2 year anniversary.

1. Firstwatch Breakfast for breakfast, lunch, and dinner during lunchtime. I was having a major waffle craving. Funny thing is, we ordered everything but. haha

I am grateful and surprised I didn't attract all the bumble bees...

Results? Loving Ohio and its greenery more and extreme bloatedness. We literally ate 4 large meals at once. Needless to say we were pretty satisfied the rest of the day.

I love Jacob!!! He kind of rocks in every way. I'm a lucky girl:)
